I keep hearing more and more about the challenges of managing the Generation Y workforce and I wanted to learn more.  As a Gen X ‘er and a leader at CurrentMarketing, I really wanted to learn some of the key differences, the potential problem areas and ideas on how to maximize this generations potential and provide them quality leadership.  So, I started reading and came across this blog/white paper from UNC Kenan-Flagler:
What I liked about it, in comparison to the vast majority of articles I have come across, was the optimistic voice provided regarding the challenges and opportunities placed in front of employers with the Millenial work force.
This white paper:

  • Examines the positive characteristics that Millennials bring to an organization.
  • Explores what this generation feels is important in a job and what they expect from their employers.
  • Offers HR and talent development professionals some practical tips on how to keep this generation engaged.
  • Provides examples of what leading-edge organizations are doing to leverage this generation’s strengths and to integrate them into a multi-generational workforce.

I invite you to have a read and let me know what you think!
